About this transfer

GuideUpdated June 5, 20263 min read

Punta Mita is 55-75 minutes from PVR airport (Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz), a private peninsula north on Federal Highway 200 home to the Four Seasons, St. Regis, and Conrad. A private transfer is direct with no shared stops, flight tracking, and an all-inclusive price from $161 USD per vehicle. Child seats and bottled water included.

How long is the transfer from PVR to Punta Mita?

Punta Mita is 40-45 km from PVR via Federal Highway 200 north through Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, La Cruz, and onto the Punta Mita peninsula access road. Under normal traffic the drive takes 55-75 minutes. During peak hours and holiday weekends, plan for 75-90 minutes. The final stretch to the resort gates requires a security clearance — we register your arrival in advance.

What to expect when you land at PVR

PVR has a single main terminal with international arrivals on the ground floor. After immigration and customs, walk straight out through the exit doors — our host is waiting immediately outside the terminal holding a sign with your name and our logo. Do not engage with the timeshare and taxi representatives inside the terminal corridor. Keep walking straight out to the exterior.

  • Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita — flagship luxury on the peninsula
  • St. Regis Punta Mita Resort — ultra-luxury beachfront
  • Conrad Punta de Mita — newer ultra-luxury resort
  • W Punta de Mita — adults-first design hotel
  • Iberostar Playa Mita — all-inclusive on Banderas Bay
  • Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa Resort
  • Imanta Resort — boutique eco-luxury in the jungle above the bay

Which Punta Mita resort is right for you?

Every private transfer to the Punta Mita peninsula runs the same 55-75 minute route on Federal Highway 200 and goes through the same advance gate registration, so the ride itself does not change based on which resort you book — only the exact drop-off gate inside the peninsula does. What changes is the property. Golfers and families tend to book the Four Seasons for its two on-site Jack Nicklaus golf courses. Couples looking for a beachfront stay with full butler service lean toward the St. Regis. The Conrad and the W both draw travelers who want a newer, design-forward build — the W skews adults-only, while the Conrad suits a broader mix of guests. Imanta Resort sits apart from that beachfront cluster, tucked into the jungle above the bay, and is the pick for travelers who want seclusion over resort-style amenities. Iberostar Playa Mita and Dreams Bahía Mita Surf & Spa cover the all-inclusive end of the peninsula, each with a full resort program included in the room rate.

Imanta Resort: the quiet alternative

Imanta Resort is the newest property we've added to our Punta Mita coverage. It sits above the bay in the jungle rather than directly on the beach, with a smaller footprint than the Four Seasons or St. Regis — the draw here is privacy rather than resort scale, with villas and suites spread through the hillside instead of a single beachfront tower. The transfer itself is unchanged: the same 55-68 minute drive and the same $161 USD all-inclusive rate as the rest of the peninsula, with only the final drop-off point different. We register your arrival with Imanta's gate security the same way we do for the Four Seasons, St. Regis, Conrad, and W, so there is no extra step or delay at check-in. It's a common pick for couples celebrating an anniversary or travelers who simply want fewer people around the pool.
