How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

After you clear customs, exit the terminal and keep walking straight toward the main doors — your host is waiting outside, not inside the arrivals hall.

Walk straight outside — past the gauntlet

Inside, you'll pass a row of people offering taxis, tours, and timeshare “help.” You don't need any of it — walk straight past them and step outside.

Don't stop at any booth or let anyone carry your bags inside the terminal; our host is just past the exit doors.

Look for the khaki + black guayabera uniform

Just outside the exit, look for your host in khaki pants and a black guayabera, holding a sign with your name and our logo.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Puerto Vallarta's arrivals corridor is full of friendly people offering rides and “free” tours. They aren't us. Keep walking past them — our host is waiting just outside the exit with your name on a sign.

About this transfer

GuidePublished August 22, 2026Updated August 22, 20263 min read

Written by the Puerto Vallarta Airport Transfers operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Dreams Bahía Mita Surf & Spa sits on the Punta Mita coastline, 40-45 km north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) — the same stretch of coast as its adults-only sister property Secrets Bahía Mita next door. A private door-to-door transfer runs 55-75 minutes up Federal Highway 200 through Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, and La Cruz. Flight tracking, meet-and-greet, child seats, and the peninsula gate registration are all handled for you.

How long is the transfer from PVR to Dreams Bahía Mita?

The drive from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR, Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz) to Dreams Bahía Mita Surf & Spa covers roughly 40-45 km, almost all of it north on Federal Highway 200 through Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías, and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle before the Punta Mita coastal access road. Off-peak the ride is about 55-75 minutes. During high season and holiday weekends, add 10-20 minutes — the stretch past La Cruz toward the Punta Mita gate is the slowest segment. Your driver tracks your flight in real time and plans the route around live traffic, so the pickup time follows your actual landing, not the scheduled one.

Getting through the Punta Mita gate

Punta Mita is a private, gated peninsula: every property inside — Dreams Bahía Mita included — sits past a security checkpoint that vehicles cannot pass without an advance clearance. We register your name and your resort with the gate before your arrival, so the guard waves your driver straight through instead of turning you back for a call-ahead. This is the single most common reason unprepared taxis get stuck at the entrance, and it is handled for you as part of the booking.

What's included in your Dreams Bahía Mita transfer?

  • Private vehicle — no shared stops, no waiting on other travelers.
  • English-speaking driver who meets you just outside PVR arrivals with a sign showing your name.
  • Flight tracking — the pickup time adjusts automatically if you land early or late.
  • Child seats and bottled water on request (add a note to your booking).
  • Tolls, taxes, and the Punta Mita gate registration — no roadside surprises.
  • Direct drop-off at the Dreams Bahía Mita entrance, past the peninsula checkpoint.

Which Dreams Bahía Mita is this? (Not Punta Cana, not another Dreams resort)

AMResorts/Hyatt Inclusive Collection operates the Dreams brand across many locations in Mexico and the Caribbean, and "Dreams" searches get diluted across all of them. This page is specifically for Dreams Bahía Mita Surf & Spa on the Punta Mita peninsula in Nayarit, Mexico, reached through Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) — not Dreams resorts near Cancún, the Riviera Maya, or Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, which are on entirely different coasts served by different airports. If your confirmation says "Dreams Bahía Mita" or "Dreams Bahia Mita Surf & Spa," this is your page; any other "Dreams" property name means a different resort, country, and transfer altogether.

Dreams Bahía Mita among the Punta Mita resorts

Dreams Bahía Mita Surf & Spa is the family-friendly, all-inclusive beachfront resort on this stretch of the Punta Mita peninsula, sharing the same gated corridor and the same private-transfer-only rule as its neighbors. Its adults-only sister property, Secrets Bahía Mita, sits right next door — same beach, same gate, same 55-75 minute drive, different guest mix. Where the Four Seasons, St. Regis, Conrad, and W further along the peninsula are golf-and-design resorts booked on a room-only or European-plan basis, Dreams and Secrets Bahía Mita cover the all-inclusive end of the corridor: meals, drinks, and the resort program are bundled into the stay. Because the whole peninsula is registration-controlled, booking your transfer in advance matters more here than for the open resort zones closer to the airport, where a driver can simply pull up to the lobby.

Planning your arrival at PVR

After you clear immigration and collect your bags at PVR, walk straight out the arrivals exit. Ignore the tour and timeshare desks inside the terminal — your host waits just outside, holding a sign with your name and our logo, and there is no upsell to work through. From there it is a single direct ride to Dreams Bahía Mita. If you are travelling as a family or with extra luggage, note it when you book so we assign a van, Suburban, or Sprinter with room to spare rather than a standard sedan.
