How you'll find us at the airport.

Exit the arrivals terminal

After you clear customs, exit the terminal and keep walking straight toward the main doors — your host is waiting outside, not inside the arrivals hall.

Walk straight outside — past the gauntlet

Inside, you'll pass a row of people offering taxis, tours, and timeshare “help.” You don't need any of it — walk straight past them and step outside.

Don't stop at any booth or let anyone carry your bags inside the terminal; our host is just past the exit doors.

Look for the khaki + black guayabera uniform

Just outside the exit, look for your host in khaki pants and a black guayabera, holding a sign with your name and our logo.

They'll call your vehicle

The host greets you, takes a moment to confirm the booking, and radios your driver — who's already in the staging area and arrives at the curb in under two minutes. Your bags go in. Your trip begins. During the ride, ask anything you need. Recommendations, restaurant tips, local advice — your driver is at your service.

Your driver's uniform

Embroidered shirt + khaki pants — distinctive on purpose.

A small concierge note from us.

Puerto Vallarta's arrivals corridor is full of friendly people offering rides and “free” tours. They aren't us. Keep walking past them — our host is waiting just outside the exit with your name on a sign.

You land

About this transfer

Written by the Puerto Vallarta Airport Transfers operations team — we drive these routes every day.

Conrad Punta de Mita sits on the Punta Mita peninsula, 40-45 km north of Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) — about 55-75 minutes by private transfer up Federal Highway 200 through Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías and La Cruz. The peninsula is gated, so vehicle access needs advance registration; we file yours when you book. Flight tracking, meet-and-greet outside arrivals, child seats and bottled water are included.

How long is the transfer from PVR to Conrad Punta de Mita?

The drive from Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR, Lic. Gustavo Díaz Ordaz) to Conrad Punta de Mita covers roughly 40-45 km, nearly all of it north on Federal Highway 200 through Nuevo Vallarta, Bucerías and La Cruz de Huanacaxtle before the peninsula access road. Under normal traffic the ride is 55-75 minutes. At peak hours and on holiday weekends, plan for 75-90 minutes instead — the slowest segment is the stretch past La Cruz toward the peninsula entrance. Your driver tracks your flight in real time, so the pickup follows your actual landing rather than the time printed on your ticket.

Which airport do you fly into for Conrad Punta de Mita?

Puerto Vallarta International Airport (PVR) is the airport for Conrad Punta de Mita, and the only commercial airport within driving distance of the peninsula. The peninsula has no airstrip or terminal of its own, so every arrival starts at PVR and continues by road. One detail surprises first-time guests: the flight lands in Jalisco and the resort is in Nayarit. The state line is crossed on Federal Highway 200 a few minutes out of the airport — no border, no paperwork, no vehicle change — but it explains why airlines and maps label the destination two different ways.

PVR has a single commercial terminal, with international arrivals on the ground floor. What some airlines call Terminal A and Terminal B are departure concourses inside that same building, so there is no terminal to choose between on arrival and no internal transfer to plan for. After immigration and baggage claim, you walk straight out of one set of exit doors — and that is where your host is waiting.

Getting through the Punta Mita gate

Punta Mita is a private gated peninsula: all vehicle access requires advance registration with peninsula security. We file your name, your resort and your arrival when you book, so the guard waves your driver through instead of holding the car at the entrance for a call-ahead. This is the single most common reason an unprepared street taxi gets stopped at the checkpoint. Bring your hotel confirmation as a backup, but you should not need it.

Which vehicle fits your party

Every transfer to Conrad Punta de Mita is private and priced per vehicle, not per seat, so the question at checkout is simply how many of you are travelling and how much luggage comes along. Pick your party size and the eligible vehicles appear automatically with their live rate. Golf bags, surfboards and strollers all count toward the luggage space, so tell us about them in the booking note and we size the vehicle accordingly — the peninsula is a golf destination and oversized bags are routine for us.

The Taxi option covers arrivals only. Standard, Suburban SUV, Van and Sprinter also cover the departure run back to PVR on the same all-inclusive per-vehicle basis, so a group leaving together does not need to arrange a separate departure taxi from the peninsula. For a wedding block or a multi-family trip, the Sprinter keeps the whole party — and the gate registration — on a single vehicle.

What's included in your Conrad Punta de Mita transfer

  • Private vehicle — no shared stops and no waiting on other travellers.
  • English-speaking driver who meets you just outside PVR arrivals with a sign showing your name.
  • Flight tracking — the pickup time adjusts automatically if you land early or late.
  • Advance registration at the Punta Mita gate, handled before you land.
  • Child seats and bottled water on request (add a note to your booking).
  • Tolls and taxes included — no roadside surprises and nothing to settle with the driver.
  • Direct drop-off at the Conrad Punta de Mita entrance, past the peninsula checkpoint.

Conrad Punta de Mita among the peninsula resorts

Conrad Punta de Mita shares the peninsula — and the same security gate and stretch of Federal Highway 200 — with the Four Seasons, St. Regis, W Punta de Mita, Secrets Bahía Mita, Iberostar Playa Mita and Dreams Bahía Mita. Transfer times across the properties land within about ten minutes of each other; what differs is only where a resort sits along the peninsula road once you are through the checkpoint. Conrad is on the shorter end of that range, a few minutes closer to the gate than the resorts out toward the point.

If your travel party is split across two peninsula resorts on the same trip, the logistics are functionally identical — one advance gate registration, one driver, one route — and only the last few minutes change. Each peninsula resort has its own transfer page with the distance and drive time for that specific property, linked below; the zone overview covers the peninsula as a whole.

Your departure transfer back to PVR

The return leg is the one travellers tend to underestimate, because about an hour of highway sits between the peninsula and the terminal. The road from Conrad Punta de Mita back to PVR takes the same 55-75 minutes as the inbound ride, and longer on a Friday afternoon or over a holiday weekend, when the Federal 200 stretch between La Cruz and Nuevo Vallarta bunches up. So the departure pickup is set from your flight, not from a round number: tell us the flight when you book and we work the time backwards from it — including the slow stretch — and confirm it with you before your last morning.

You do not need to arrange the return separately or hunt for a car at the lobby on your last morning: book the round trip when you book the arrival and the same all-inclusive per-vehicle basis covers both directions. The only vehicle that does not cover departures is the Taxi tier, which is an arrivals-only product — if your group books a Taxi inbound, the return runs on one of the other vehicles. Flight changes are normal and we move the pickup when you tell us; what we cannot absorb is a vehicle requested at the gate with no notice, because peninsula access still has to be cleared.

Travelling with children or a large group

Child seats are included rather than billed as an extra, and they are fitted before the vehicle leaves the staging area — tell us the number and the ages of the children in the booking note and the right seats are waiting when you land. That matters more on this route than on the short in-town transfers: an hour on the highway with a toddler in an improvised seat is nobody’s idea of a holiday start, and street taxis in Puerto Vallarta do not carry them.

For weddings, golf groups and multi-family trips, the practical limit is the vehicle rather than the road. A Sprinter takes up to 18 passengers, which keeps a whole wedding party, one driver and one gate registration on a single vehicle instead of a convoy that arrives in pieces. If the group is larger than that, we run several vehicles on the same arrival window and register them together — send the full flight list and we plan it around the latest landing rather than the earliest.

Planning your arrival at PVR

Book the transfer before you fly rather than on landing: the gate registration has to be filed ahead of your arrival, and a car arranged at the curb cannot do that for you. When you book, give us the flight number, the party size and anything oversized in the luggage. After you clear immigration and collect your bags at PVR, walk straight out the arrivals exit — your host is outside with a sign, the driver is already in the staging area, and the vehicle is at the curb within a couple of minutes. From there it is one direct ride to the Conrad Punta de Mita entrance.
